Imperial County, California (June 28, 2021) – Anthony Redondo, 23, has been identified as the Imperial County sheriff’s deputy who was killed in a Saturday evening two-vehicle accident that left several other people injured in Holtville, Imperial County, authorities said.
The deadly accident transpired at about 7:40 p.m., on June 26, at the intersection of Aten Road and Forrester Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a white pickup truck collided with an Imperial County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle for undetermined reasons.
As a result of the crash impact, both vehicles flipped over into a small field near the intersection.

Sadly, deputy Redondo sustained fatal injuries in the accident.
At least three other parties were injured in the accident and were hospitalized for treatment. Two of the patients had major injuries and were airlifted to a trauma center.
Further details regarding the accident were not immediately available.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
