Valencia Woman Killed in Newhall Rollover Accident on 14 Freeway near Newhall Avenue ID’d as Ann Diaz
Newhall, California (June 17, 2020) – 57-year-old Ann Catherine Diaz, of Valencia, has been identified as the woman who died following a rollover collision in Newhall Tuesday night, according to the Los Angeles County Department Coroner Office.
The fatal crash happened at about 9:02 p.m. on the 14 Freeway near the Newhall Avenue off-ramp
The accident began when a Toyota driven by Diaz erratically at high speed on the northbound lane of 14 Freeway south of Newhall Avenue sideswiped a GMC. The Toyota then lost control upon the impact and overturned on the off-ramp.
Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded at the scene and extricated Diaz, who was trapped inside the wreckage.

Sadly, Diaz was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The California Highway Patrol said speed appeared to be a factor in the mishap.
The wreck resulted in the closure of the Newhall Avenue exit of the northbound 14 freeway as police and emergency crews worked to investigate and clear the scene.
