Orcutt, California (April 27, 2021) – Angel Morales, 21, of Santa Maria, has been identified as the man who was killed in a Sunday morning traffic accident between Orcutt and Los Alamos, the CHP said.

The crash occurred at about 6:30 a.m., on April 25, on Highway 101 along the Solomon Grade.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Morales was driving a 2016 Lexus at a high rate of speed when he drifted into the median.

Morales allegedly overcorrected and the vehicle went off the roadway and overturned several times.

Following the collision, Morales, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected onto the roadway.

Sadly, Morales was pronounced dead at the scene.

It was not clear if drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.

More details about the accident were not immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation.
