Alfonso Madera ID’d as 1 of 2 People Killed in Oroville Crash on Highway 70

Oroville, California (July 6, 2021) – Alfonso Madera, 21, has been identified as one of the two drivers who were killed in a Monday morning traffic accident in Oroville, authorities said.
The deadly head-on collision transpired at about 3:00 a.m., on July 5, on Highway 70, east of the West Branch Bridge.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle driven by Kristopher Wilson, 27, collided head-on with another car, driven by Madera, on the highway in unclear circumstances.

Sadly, Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Madera sustained major injuries in the collision, and he was transported to Enloe Medical Center in Chico, where he succumbed to his injuries.
It was not clear if intoxication played a role in the mishap.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
