Alex Soto and Lilia Cortez Hospitalized after San Benito County Collision on Highway 156 near Pacheco Creek Drive

San Benito County, California (July 26, 2021) – Alex Soto and Lilia Cortez were injured after being involved in a traffic accident that left an 11-month-old boy dead Saturday afternoon in San Benito County, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The collision happened at about 1:20 p.m. on July 24 on Highway 156, just west of Pacheco Creek Drive, and involved three vehicles, the California Highway Patrol reported.
According to the CHP, a 2019 Freightliner Cascadia, driven by Satinderpal Sing, was heading westbound on Highway 156 when he failed to stop for the stopped traffic ahead and rear-ended a 2020 Toyota Corolla driven by Denisse A. Ramirez.
The impact pushed Toyota into the back of a 2021 Volvo VNL 760.
Infant Killed, 3 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash
The 11-month-old boy who was in the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other passengers in the Toyota, Soto and Cortez, were transported to Natividad Medical Center with unspecified injuries.
Ramirez was also transported to Hazel Hawkins Hospital in unknown condition. Singh and the driver of the Volvo were not injured in the crash.
Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash.
Further details about the accident were not immediately provided.
