1 Hospitalized after Alameda County Car Accident on Interstate Highway 680 near State Highway 84/Vallecitos Road
Alameda County, California (July 1, 2019) – A person was hospitalized Sunday night after a two-car accident near Sunol in unincorporated Alameda County, according to a local news source.
The crash, which was reported at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday, June 30, happened on southbound I-680 about a mile north of the state Highway 84/Vallecitos Road interchange.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a red Chevrolet SUV collided with a BMW sedan for an unknown reason on Interstate Highway 680.

The force of the impact caused the SUV to roll over and landed on the freeway while the sedan drifted off the right shoulder.
One person was transported to Stanford Health Care-ValleyCare Medical Center in Pleasanton with unspecified injuries.
A lane of Interstate Highway 680 was closed following the crash. All lanes were reopened shortly after 9:00 p.m.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
