Wrong-Way Driver Adam Barooshian Arrested after State Route 76 Crash near Vía Monsera That Killed Motorcyclist

Bonsall, California (January 2, 2019) – The wrong-way driver who caused a traffic accident that killed a motorcyclist early Tuesday morning has been arrested, according to a local news source.
The horrific accident occurred just before 4:00 a.m. Tuesday, Jan 1. on the westbound lanes of State Route 76 near Vía Monsera.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Adam Barooshian, 25, was driving a Lexus IS 300 eastbound on the westbound lanes of the freeway when he hit a man who was riding a Suzuki motorcycle head-on, traveling in the correct direction.
Wreckages from the crash struck a third car.
The CHP said the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Barooshian sustained minor injuries and was transported to Palomar Medical Center.
Barooshian was arrested on suspicion of DUI. According to reports, his court date was scheduled for Thursday.
Westbound lanes on State Route 76 were shut down until 7:00 a.m. as emergency crews worked to clear the scene of the accident.
