Several Injured in Baker Car Crash on 15 Freeway near Zzyzx Road

Baker, California (February 8, 2019) – Several people were hospitalized on Monday afternoon following a multi-vehicle crash in Baker, San Bernardino County, according to the authorities.
The crash happened on Interstate 15 Freeway near Zzyzx Road on Monday, February 4.
According to a preliminary investigation, the accident happened when the driver of a white international two-axle box truck failed to notice traffic slowing in front of him. The truck driver, identified as a 22-year-old from Sacramento, crashed into a red Honda Civic. The truck continued moving forward and struck a Subaru Impreza, a Toyota Highlander, a Cadillac, a Lexus R200, and a Dodge Dakota.
A female passenger in the Civic, identified as a 20-year-old San Bernardino woman, was stuck in the vehicle and sustained major injuries. She was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital for treatment. The driver of the civic was also injured and was hospitalized at University Medical Center in Las Vegas.
Moreover, two people in the Subaru and two people in the Dodge Dakota suffered minor injuries and were all transported to Barstow Community Hospital. Two other people in the Toyota Highlander were also hospitalized for their injuries.
No further details on the crash were released.
