Possible Injuries Reported after 5 Freeway Accident in Valencia
Valencia, California (February 8, 2019) – Possible injuries were reported Friday morning following a multi-vehicle collision in Valencia, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The crash took place at about 6:00 a.m. on the southbound 5 Freeway at Rye Canyon Road and involved three vehicles.
Details on how the three vehicles collided were not immediately available, but authorities said the force of the impact caused a big rig to spin and faced the opposite direction while two other vehicles veered off the road.
As per the report, the front of a white pick-up truck was caved in.
Firefighters along with the CHP officers responded to the scene to render aid to those who might have sustained injuries as a result of the collision.
The crash caused the closure of all lanes except the left lane for hours as emergency crews worked to clear the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
