Willits, California (January 22, 2019) – The authorities have released the identity of the man who was killed in a head-on collision in Willits on Friday evening.

The deceased was identified as 51-year-old Michael Andrus of Kelseyville.

According to a local news source, the accident occurred at about 4:40 p.m. January 18, on Highway 101 near Reynolds Highway.

The authorities said Andrus was driving a Mercedes southbound on the roadway when he collided with Dodge pickup truck driven by Ramon Machado, 71.

Andrus was killed in the collision.

Machado sustained major injuries and was transported to Adventist Health Howard Memorial Hospital for treatment.

No other information was provided.
