Contra Costa, California (January 17, 2019) – Minor injuries were reported after a big rig collision Thursday morning in Contra Costa, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident happened at around 10:05 a.m. Thursday, on westbound Highway 4 and Port Chicago Highway off-ramp.

As per the CHP officials, a white big rig and a green Nissan Altima crashed for reasons still under investigation. The two cars were on the left-hand side of the roadway after the collision.

An ambulance was sent to the scene to attend to the injured parties. The number of victims and their current condition remained unknown.

Officials blocked the off-ramp following the accident.

Tow trucks were requested to remove the vehicles from the crash site.
