Major Injuries Sustained in San Jose Collision on Highway 101 near 680 Freeway
San Jose, California (January 5, 2019) – An investigation is underway to determine the cause of a major injury collision that took place early Saturday morning in San Jose.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fiery collision happened at about 12:56 a.m. on southbound Highway 101, just north of 680 Freeway.
Two vehicles were involved in the accident. One of them became fully engulfed in fire after the impact.
Authorities said major injuries were sustained in the collision. The number of patients remained unknown. Paramedics responded to the scene to transport the victims to the hospital.
Both vehicles were towed away from the scene.
