Salvador Lopez among 3 Victims of Fatal Rialto Crash on South Riverside Avenue near Santa Ana Avenue
Rialto, California (June 30, 2021) – Salvador Lopez, 20, of Fontana, was among three people who died Monday morning after a car collided head-on with a box truck in Rialto.
The fatal crash happened at about 7:30 a.m. Monday, June 28, in the 2500 block of South Riverside Avenue near Santa Ana Avenue.
Authorities said a 2020 Nissan Altima speeding southbound on Riverside Avenue towards Santa Ana Avenue when it abruptly turned and clipped the back of a Dodge Ram truck.
The Altima then drifted into the northbound lanes, where it collided head-on with the box truck.

The female driver of the Altima and two of her passengers were pronounced dead at the scene.
A third passenger in the Altima, a 21-year-old Fontana woman, was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
The westbound lanes of the freeway were shut down to contain the fire that spread from the crash scene to the side of the road.
Further details regarding the mishap were not immediately available.
