Lashon Gardner ID’d as 1 of 3 Killed in Rialto Crash on South Riverside Avenue near Santa Ana Avenue
Rialto, California (June 30, 2021) – One of the three people who died Monday morning following a head-on collision in Rialto has been identified as Lashon Gardner, 33, of Barstow.
The deadly accident occurred at about 7:30 a.m. Monday, June 28, in the 2500 block of South Riverside Avenue near Santa Ana Avenue.
According to authorities, a 2020 Nissan Altima was speeding southbound on Riverside Avenue towards Santa Ana Avenue when the driver abruptly turned and clipped the rear of a Dodge Ram truck.
The Altima then drifted into the northbound lanes and collided head-on with a box truck.

The female driver of the Altima and two of her passengers were pronounced dead at the scene.
A third passenger in the Altima, a 21-year-old Fontana woman, was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
The westbound lanes of the freeway were shut down to contain the fire that spread from the crash scene to the side of the road.
Further details regarding the mishap were not immediately available.
