Eric Arakelyan Injured in Deadly Newport Beach Crash on 73 Toll Road near Jamboree Road
Newport Beach, California (June 16, 2021) – Eric Arakelyan, 19, of Glendale was injured in a fatal traffic collision that happened near Newport Beach on Tuesday afternoon, according to the authorities.
The crash occurred on the 73 Toll Road near Jamboree Road at about 3:55 p.m. June 15.
According to CHP, Arakelyan was driving a BMW 540i southbound at a high rate of speed when he collided with a northbound vintage 1959 Jaguar and slammed into the center divider.

The Jaguar moved up an embankment and collided with a road sign, before overturning.
The driver of the Jaguar, who was not immediately identified, died in the accident.
Arakelyan sustained minor injuries.
Both directions of the 73 Toll Road were closed near the scene as officials examined the crash.
CHP said alcohol was not suspected in the incident. However, speed is suspected to be a factor in the crash
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
