Long Beach, California (June 16, 2021) – John Michael Marshall Insley, 34, of Long Beach, died one month after being involved in a multi-vehicle collision in May in Long Beach, according to police.

The incident occurred at Redondo Avenue and 15th Street in the Zaferia area at around 3:25 p.m. May 5.

A 57-year-old San Diego man was driving a Honda Accord west on 15th Street when, for unknown reasons, he collided with a Yamaha motorcycle that Insley was riding northbound on Redondo Avenue.

The motorcycle then collided with a Ford Mustang operated by a 22-year-old driver from Long Beach.

Insley was taken to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on June 6.

No other injuries were reported.

Police said the other two drivers remained at the scene after the collision and were not suspected of being distracted or impaired.

The Long Beach Police Department is investigating the incident.
