1 Killed and 1 Injured in Plane Crash in the Martis Valley, Truckee
Truckee, California (June 16, 2021) – One person was killed and another was injured in a plane crash in Truckee late Tuesday morning.
The Placer County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened shortly before 11 a.m. in the Martis Valley.
A small plane is reported to have crashed in an open area behind a neighborhood shortly after takeoff from Truckee Tahoe Airport.
The Truckee Fire Protection District responded to the incident and confirmed one fatality.
A second person was seriously injured and was transported to an area trauma center for treatment.
The authorities could not immediately establish where the plane was headed.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are investigating the accident.
