8 Injured, 2 Critically, in Victorville Hit-and-Run Crash at Amethyst and Luna Roads
Victorville, California (April 24, 2021) – Eight people were injured Friday afternoon in a hit-and-run accident at an intersection in Victorville, according to a local news source.
The major injury crash happened at around 3:51 p.m. Friday, April 23, at the intersection of Amethyst and Luna Roads.
As per the report, a black Chevy Tahoe was traveling at a high rate in the area when the driver allegedly ran a red light at the intersection and t-boned a sedan occupied by a woman and three children.
Several other vehicles became involved in the crash.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and extricated two people who were trapped in their vehicles. A total of eight people were injured in the wreck.
Two patients were airlifted to a hospital with critical injuries. The other six victims, including four children, were taken by land ambulances to nearby hospitals, two with minor injuries.
The names of all the patients and conditions were not immediately disclosed.
The driver of the Chevy reportedly fled on foot but was later located in an adjacent neighborhood.
Police closed the roadway following the accident.
