Ventura, California (April 15, 2021) – Two people were hospitalized early Tuesday morning following a single-vehicle traffic accident at an intersection in Ventura, according to a local news source.

The crash happened a little after  4:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, at the intersection of Telephone Road and Transport Road.

Authorities said a vehicle was speeding southbound on Telephone Road when the driver lost control and the vehicle veered off the roadway.

The vehicle then struck a light pole.

Major Injury Traffic Collision in Ventura

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and extricated the driver and passenger who were trapped in the wrecked vehicle.

Both patients were then taken to Ventura County Medical Center with major injuries. Their names and condition were not immediately disclosed.

It is undetermined if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
