San Diego, California (March 11, 2021) – The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the woman who died last week on Thursday following a traffic accident in San Diego as Sidnie Waller, 21, of San Martin.
The deadly single-vehicle accident happened at around 9:17 p.m. Thursday, March 4, on the southbound side of Interstate 5 at SeaWorld Drive.
According to the authorities, a vehicle was heading southbound on Interstate 5 when it tried to exit the Sea World Drive off-ramp.
For an unknown reason, the vehicle veered off the road and ended up partially submerged in the water.
A Witnessed told the authorities that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the collision.
Deadly Car Crash on Interstate 5 in San Diego
Waller, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was trapped in the wreckage and was extricated by firefighters. She was then taken to a nearby hospital with a brain injury.
On Sunday, Waller’s condition deteriorated, and she succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
No further details about the accident were immediately available.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
