Nadia Alatorre-Mcneal Killed in Car Accident on Interstate 8 in El Cajon
Nadia Alatorre-Mcneal ID’d as Woman Killed in El Cajon Crash on Interstate 8 near 2nd Street
El Cajon, California (March 3, 2021) – The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the woman who died early Tuesday morning in a traffic accident in El Cajon as Nadia Eden Alatorre-Mcneal, 19, of Chico.
The deadly crash happened at about 2:50 a.m. Tuesday, March 2, on Interstate 8 Freeway, just west of 2nd Street.
Authorities said Alatorre-Mcneal was driving eastbound on Interstate 8 when, for unknown reasons, her 2003 Toyota Matrix drifted across all lanes and went into the shoulder.
The Matrix then crashed into a center median and became disabled in the No. 3 lane.
Alatorre-Mcneal exited the vehicle and stood near her disabled car. Moments later, a 2002 Infiniti G35 crashed into the disabled Matrix, which was then pushed into Alatorre-Mcneal.
The impact threw Alatorre-Mcneal into the left lane of the highway, where she was struck by two other vehicles.
Deadly Crash on Interstate 8 in El Cajon
Alatorre-Mcneal died at the scene. The driver of the Infiniti suffered major injuries and was transported to a hospital.
The other two drivers were uninjured.
It is undetermined if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the accident.
The CHP is investigating the accident.
