Santa Barbara, California (February 11, 2021) – A 33-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Thursday afternoon in Santa Barbara, authorities said.

The deadly accident happened at about 12:45 p.m. in the 4700 block of Harris Grade Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a Ford pickup truck was headed northbound when it veered off the roadway and struck an embankment about half a mile north of the Harris Grade summit.

Due to the crash impact, the truck overturned and landed on its roof. The 33-year-old man, who was not wearing a seatbelt was partially ejected from the vehicle, the officials said.

Sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

It was not clear if drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
