San Bernardino, California (December 29, 2020) – A 42-year-old man was hit and killed by a hit and run driver on Sunday evening in San Bernardino, authorities said.

The deadly pedestrian accident transpired at about 7:45 p.m., on December 27, at the intersection of Second Street and G Street.

According to the police, the 42-year-old male pedestrian was in a crosswalk when a vehicle that was allegedly speeding struck him.

Sadly, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the crash site.

The involved driver fled the scene but was later arrested. He was allegedly under the influence of marijuana and alcohol at the time of the crash. He was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and hit-and-run causing injury or death, the police said.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
