Orlando Rosalez Seriously Injured in Tulare County Car Crash on Highway 198 at Lemon Hill Recreation Area Entrance

Tulare County, California (December 28, 2020) – One of the two people who were injured Friday night in an alleged DUI crash in Tulare County has been identified as Orlando Rosalez.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the major injury collision was reported shortly before midnight Saturday, December 26, on Highway 198 at the Lemon Hill Recreation Area Entrance.
The CHP said Rosalez was driving westbound on Highway 198 towards the T-intersection near Lemon Hill Recreation Area at a high rate of speed when he allowed his 2001 Lexus to cross over the double yellow line and collided with a 2020 Ford that was making a left turn from the Lemon Hill Recreation Area onto Highway 198.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and extricated Rosalez, who was trapped in the wreckage.
Rosalez was then airlifted to Kaweah Delta Hospital with major injuries. His passenger was also taken by ambulance to Kaweah Delta Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The Ford driver was not injured. Authorities later determined that Rosalez was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
Police closed Highway 198 while the investigation and cleanup took place.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
