Apple Valley, California (December 28, 2020) – A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle Sunday evening in Apple Valley, according to a local news source.

The accident was reported at around 6:45 p.m. Sunday, December 27, on Highway 18 near Rimrock Road.

As per the report, the pedestrian was hit by a white 2004 Toyota Sienna on Highway 18.

The Toyota sustained major damage to the passenger side hood and windshield following the crash. Another vehicle of unknown type was also at the scene.

Parmedics responded to the crash and found the pedestrian suffering from major injuries.  The victim, whose name has not been disclosed pending notification of family, was declared the pedestrian dead at the scene.

Westbound lanes of Highway 18 were closed in the area due to the accident.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
