Anton Solorio Killed after Train Hits Van near Christmas Tree Lane in Fresno
Anton Solorio ID’s as 5-Year-Old Boy Killed in Fresno Train Crash at Maroa and Shields Avenues

Fresno, California (December 3, 2020) – The Fresno County Coroner’s Office has identified the child who died when a minivan was hit by a train Tuesday evening near Christmas Tree Lane in Fresno as Anton Solorio, 5, of Fresno.
The deadly accident occurred at about 5:50 p.m. Tuesday, December 1, at the intersection of Maroa and Shields avenues.
Authorities said a white minivan, occupied by a family of four, was stopped at the intersection waiting to enter a drive-through Christmas lights display when it was struck by an Amtrak train.
Solorio died in the accident, while two others in the minivan sustained moderate injuries.
No injuries were reported on the train.
Authorities are still investigating to determine the exact cause of the accident.
