Steven Barthram Seriously Injured in Oakdale Bicycle Crash on River Road near Sawyer Avenue

Oakdale, California (December 3, 2020) – Steven Barthram, 54, of Waterford, has been identified as the bicyclist who was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon in an alleged hit-and-run accident east of Oakdale.
The crash happened at around 3:25 p.m. Tuesday, December 1, on River Road, approximately three-quarters of a mile east of Sawyer Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Barthram was riding a bicycle westbound on River Road when a vehicle traveling in the same direction clipped the bicycle.
Bicyclist Hit, Injured by Car on River Road in Oakdale
Barthram sustained injuries, including abrasions, and was transported to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, where he was in stable condition.
The involved driver did not stop to render aid to Barthram and fled the scene. After the accident, the hit-and-run suspect left a shattered right-side rearview mirror.
Police are still searching for the motorist.
