Lance Walters ID’d as 69-Year-Old Great Bend Man Killed in Glamis ATV Crash at Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area
Glamis, California (December 1, 2020) – Lance Walters, 69, of Great Bend, has been identified as the man who was killed in an ATV accident on Tuesday last week in Glamis, according to the Coroner’s Office.
The deadly accident happened at about 11:45 a.m., on November 24, at the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Walters was driving a 2019 Polaris in a southerly direction when he failed to observe the change in terrain and elevation ahead.
Walters reportedly traveled off and down a razorback dune.

Sadly, Walters sustained blunt-force trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.
More details about the accident were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
