Luka Sheek ID’d as 3-Year-Old Boy Injured in Amador City Car Crash on Highway 49

Amador City, California (November 17, 2020) – Luka Sheek has been identified as the 3-year-old boy who was injured in a head-on car crash that killed two people on Friday afternoon in Amador City, authorities said.
The deadly accident happened just before 3:00 p.m., on November 13, on Highway 49 between Jackson and Drytown.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, operated by Brandon Harris, 43, of Mokelumne Hill, was driving off the road’s right shoulder when it sharply turned into the northbound lane.
Unfortunately, the Jeep collided head-on with an oncoming pickup truck, the officials said.
Luka Sheek Injured in Highway 49 Crash
Harris and his passenger, Rebecca Swafford, 39, also from Mokelumne Hill, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Sheek, who was also Harris’s passenger and a son to Swafford, was injured in the accident. As of Tuesday, the boy remains in a medically-induced coma at the hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
