Nancy Hernandez ID’d as Woman Killed in Bakersfield Crash at Highway 58 and Oswell Street Off-Ramp

Bakersfield, California (November 4, 2020) – The woman who died in a single-vehicle rollover crash Sunday night on Highway 58 in Bakersfield has been identified as Nancy Gallegos Hernandez, 37, according to the Kern County Coroner’s office.
The deadly accident, which was reported to the California Highway Patrol officers at about 7:53 p.m. Sunday, November 1, happened in the westbound lanes of Highway 58 at the Oswell Street exit.
The CHP said a Toyota, driven by Hernandez, was heading westbound on Highway 58 when it veered off the north road edge and crashed down a descending embankment, onto the Highway 58 westbound on-ramp from Oswell Street.
The Toyota reportedly continued to travel in a northerly direction down a second descending dirt embankment and slammed into a chain-link fence before it came to a stop.

Hernandez died at the scene.
The collision resulted in the closure of the westbound on-ramp to Highway 58 at Oswell Street.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
