Brayan Lopez Identified Among 3 Persons Injured in Fairfield Car Accident on Interstate 80 at East Midway Road

Fairfield, California (September 9, 2020) – Brayan Lopez, 26, of San Jose, has been identified as one of the three victims who were injured in a multi-vehicle accident that killed a man on Monday morning in Fairfield, police said.
The crash happened at about 2:35 a.m., on September 7, along westbound Interstate 80 at East Midway Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a blue Audi, driven by Lopez, collided with a white BMW, operated by Nicholas Nguyen, 16, of Suisun City, in unclear circumstances.
Following the collision, both Lopez and Nguyen got out of their vehicles to exchange information when a third vehicle, a Toyota Camry, driven by Ingrid Zelaya, 29, of San Rafael, struck Nguyen’s BMW, the officials said
Moments later, a gray Honda Civic reportedly hit Zelaya’s Toyota.

Nguyen, who was pinned against the center median by one of the vehicles, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Zelaya sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Lopez and the driver of the Honda sustained minor injuries and were also taken to a hospital for treatment.
Traffic on the roadway was blocked for several hours due to the accident.
