Michael Black Seriously Injured in Fatal Car Accident on SR-190 in Inyo County
Michael Black ID’d as Person injured in Inyo County Crash on Highway 190 near State Route 160
Inyo County, California (September 10, 2020) – Michael Black, 31, of Bakersfield, was hospitalized Tuesday morning after being involved in a fatal single-car accident in Inyo County, according to a local news source.
The deadly crash happened at about 7:05 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, on Highway 190, about 2 miles east of State Route 160.
Authorities said a 2008 Dodge Avenger, driven by a 22-year-old Bakersfield man, was heading westbound on Highway 190 when, for unknown reasons, the Dodge veered off the highway onto the south dirt shoulder.
The Bakersfield man then turned back his vehicle into the westbound lane and made a sharp right turn, causing the Dodge to spin across Highway 190 onto the north shoulder.
The Dodge then rolled over several times and burst into flames.
Deadly Car Accident on SR-190 in Inyo County
The driver of the Dodge was ejected from the vehicle during the collision. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been diclosed pending notification of family.
Black, who was riding as a passenger in the Dodge, was transported to Southern Inyo Hospital with major injuries.
