Luis Valdes Seriously Injured in Head-On Crash on Highway 395 in Ridgecrest
Luis Valdes Hospitalized after Ridgecrest Truck Accident on Highway 395 near China Lake
Ridgecrest, California (July 26, 2020) – The driver who was injured early Thursday morning in a head-on crash that also left one person dead in Ridgecrest has been identified as Luis Valdes, 41, of Hesperia.
The deadly collision involving two trucks happened at about 2:10 a.m. Thursday, July 23, on Highway 395, just south of China Lake Boulevard.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Valdes was driving southbound on Highway 395 when, for unknown reasons, his Freightliner truck collided head-on with a northbound Hino box truck driven by Calvin Everhart, 53, of San Fernando.
Everhart was pronounced dead at the scene while Valdes was transported to Kern Medical with major injuries.
No further details about the crash were immediately available.
