Coroner ID’d Anthony Barrera as Victim Injured in Corning Car Accident at Edith and Gallagher Avenues
Anthony Barrera Sustains Major Injuries in Corning 2-Vehicle Crash at Edith and Gallagher Avenues

Corning, California (June 18, 2020) – 59-year-old Anthony Barrera, of Red Bluff, has been identified as one of the two victims who were hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning in Corning.
The major injury collision happened at about 10:55 a.m. June 16, at the intersection of Edith Avenue and Gallagher Avenue.
As per the California Highway Patrol report, 56-year-old Laurie Patrick was driving a 1998 GMC SUV south on Edith Avenue when she collided with a 2014 Acura SUV operated by a Corning resident, 22-year-old Ana Juarez, east on Gallagher.
Patrick reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign and entered the intersection directly in the path of Juarez prior to the collision.

Patrick, a Red Bluff residence, and her passenger Barrera sustained major injuries in the wreck. Both were rushed to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital before being transferred to Enloe Medical Center in Chico.
Juarez was not hurt following the mishap.
The CHP is still investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
