Mentone, California (June 7, 2020) – Gineva Doucette, 11, of Big Bear, was among three people who were killed when a small plane crashed near the Crafton Hills in the Mentone area of San Bernardino County Friday afternoon.

The fatal crash happened at about 4:00 p.m. Friday, June 5, in the area of 3055 Mill Creek Road, also known as Highway 38.

Authorities said a single-engine Cessna 172 plane crashed under unknown circumstances on Mill Creek Road.

Three people onboard the plane were killed in the crash. Two of those killed were Shery Doucette and her 11-year-old daughter Gineva.

Authorities said the plane is registered to Christopher P. Hark, of Big Bear City. The FAA and the National Transportation and Safety Board are investigating the cause of the accident.
