Oxnard, California (June 7, 2020) – A 41-year-old Oxnard woman was killed, and at least two others were injured in an alleged DUI accident on Saturday morning in Oxnard, according to authorities.

The crash transpired at about 7:55 a.m. at Rice Avenue and Channel Islands Boulevard.

As per the police report, a 2017 Nissan Rogue was stopped at a red light along northbound Rice Avenue when, for unknown reasons, it was rear-ended by a 2000 Lexus RX300, driven by a 33-year-old woman from Lake Forest.

Following the accident, the Nissan came to rest in the center median, and the Lexus came to a rest off the roadway along northbound Rice Avenue. The two vehicles sustained significant damage.

Fatal Traffic Crash at Rice Avenue and Channel Islands Boulevard in Oxnard

The 41-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Nissan driver, a 14-year-old Oxnard boy, and the Lexus driver were hospitalized with major injuries.

The Lexus driver was placed under arrest for allegedly driving under the influence.
