Javier Carrillo Killed in 3-Car Crash on Pacific Coast Highway in Ventura County
Javier Carrillo ID’d as Oxnard Man Killed in Ventura County Car Accident on Pacific Coast Highway near Deer Creek Road

Ventura County, California (May 3, 2020) – Javier Carrillo, 42, of Oxnard has been identified as the man who was killed in a Friday morning car crash in Ventura County, according to Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The deadly crash transpired at about 11:44 a.m. Friday, May 1 on Pacific Coast Highway near Deer Creek Road.
A 2002 Ford flatbed construction truck, driven by a 61-year-old Thousand Oaks man, was traveling southbound on Pacific Coast Highway when it was rear-ended by a 2005 International box truck, according to the police.
The Ford had reportedly slowed down to turn left onto Deer Creek Road while, for unknown reasons, the International box truck failed to slow.
As a result of the crash impact, the Ford truck was pushed into the northbound lane, where it crashed into a 2011 Subaru SUV, operated by a 76-year-old Redondo Beach man, which was traveling northbound on the highway at the time.
Carrillo, the International box truck driver, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Subaru driver was taken to Ventura County Medical Center medical with major injuries.
The Ford driver sustained moderate injuries and was also transported to Ventura County Medical Center medical.
The three vehicles sustained significant damages due to the accident.
Following the mishap, the southbound and northbound lanes of the highway were closed for an unspecified period.
