2 Injured After 2 Trucks Crashes on Interstate 5 near Fort Tejon in Bakersfield

Bakersfield, California (April 2, 2020) – Two people were hurt following a traffic collision that took place in the area of Bakersfield at approximately 7:38 a.m. Wednesday.
Authorities said the crash took place on Interstate 5, near Fort Tejon Wednesday morning.
The accident involved a big rig transporting Ferric Chloride Solution and another truck that crashed on the roadway for unknown reasons.
The initial report indicated that the solution was about 4000 gallons, and some of it leaked onto the highway upon the impact.
2 Trucks Involved in Bakersfield Crash on Interstate 5 near Fort Tejon
Emergency crews responded to the crash site and extricated the truck operator who was pinned inside the wreckage.
The other motorist sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The wreck resulted in the closure of the highway up to about 11:30 a.m.
The accident remains under an active investigation.
