Deadly I-15 Car Crash in Granville Closes all Northbound Lanes for about 2 Hours
San Diego, California (April 2, 2020) – One person died, and at least two others were hospitalized after a traffic collision that happened Wednesday night on Interstate 15 in San Diego’s Grantville neighborhood, a local news source reported.
The crash took place at about 9:50 p.m. in the northbound lanes near Friars Road, the article reported.
At least three vehicles were involved in the collision. One of the cars overturned in the crash and another was left facing the wrong way.
The California Highway Patrol and Caltrans San Diego responded to the scene.
According to a San Diego Fire-Rescue Department official, one person was killed in the accident, and two others were taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries.
Officers closed all northbound lanes of the freeway following the crash. Vehicles were diverted off the freeway at Friars Road.
The crash is under an active investigation.
