Baldwin Park, California (February 20, 2020) – One person was killed in a traffic collision involving a suspected DUI driver early Wednesday morning in Baldwin Park, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident took place at around 4 a.m. February 19, on 10 Freeway west of Francisquito Avenue.

According to the CHP, Ana Guillen, 57, of West Covina, was driving a 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV in the No. 5 lane of westbound 10 Freeway when she either slowed down or stopped and was sideswiped by a 1993 Nissan pickup truck.

The impact caused the Nissan to spin and it came to a rest blocking the middles lanes of the freeway. The Nissan then collided with a 2018 Honda Accord driven by Luis Uribe, 37, of Covina.

1 Killed in Baldwin Park Crash on 10 Freeway

The driver of the Nissan, a 55-year-old Montclair man, was killed in the crash. 

Uribe was transported to a hospital with a fractured back.

Guillen was uninjured and was arrested on suspicion of DUI. She was taken to a hospital for a mental health evaluation.

The CHP is investigating the incident.
