Concord, California (February 12, 2020) – The California Highway Patrol has identified the victim who was hit and critically hurt by a vehicle in Concord Monday night as 18-year-old Joe Barrett of Concord.
The major injury pedestrian crash was reported shortly after 9:00 p.m. February 10, along the Port Chicago Highway on-ramp to eastbound Highway 4, in Contra Costa.
The primary report showed that Barrett had just gotten off the bus after being at the library before he was hit by unspecified vehicle.

Barrett sustained critical life-threatening injuries in the crash. He was transported to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek for treatment.
Officials said the involved motorist did not stop to render aid and fled the scene. Authorities later located a person and vehicle of interest.
