Pedro Pelayo Killed in Fontana Collision on Cherry and Whittram Avenues
Fontana, California (February 11, 2020) – Pedro Pelayo, 34, of Fontana has died following an incident where a vehicle collided with a garbage truck in Fontana on Friday evening, according to the authorities.
The crash happened at Cherry and Whittram avenues just before 5:06 p.m. February 7.
According to the report, a Burrtec Waste garbage truck was involved in a crash with a white Chevy Silverado pickup. One of the drivers reportedly failed to stop for a red light.
The garbage truck then collided with a traffic pole.

Pelayo, who was the driver of the garbage truck, had to be extricated by the San Bernardino County Fire Department crews. He was then transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The other driver, a 48-year-old Fontana man, was hospitalized with minor injuries.
The crash is under investigation by the CHP.
