Michael Keyser Killed in Apple Valley Big Rig Accident on 15 Freeway
Michael Keyser Among 2 Killed in Apple Valley Truck Crash on 15 Freeway near Hodge Road

Apple Valley, California (January 23, 2020) – Michael Robert Keyser, 49, of Hesperia was among two people killed in an Apple Valley truck crash that occurred early Sunday morning, according to authorities.
The deadly collision happened on southbound 15 Freeway, just south of Hodge Road at around 4:15 a.m. on January 20.
The California Highway Patrol said a big-rig rolled over on the right shoulder of the freeway and it was hit by another semi-truck. The impact caused the two big rigs to catch fire.
Keyser was driving his 2015 Mazda 3 and stopped on the left side of northbound 15 Freeway. He then went across the southbound lanes to assist the driver of the rolled over big rig. In the process, the first big rig was hit by the second rig.

Keyser and the driver of the first rig, who was not immediately identified, were both killed in the collision.
One party suffered injuries of an unknown degree and was taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center. Another party declined medical aid.
The cabs of the two trucks were completely destroyed following the crash. Emergency crews found cigarette lighters pallets and they called a hazmat team.
The trailer on the overturned big rig was reportedly empty at the time.
An investigation is ongoing.
