Santa Barbara, California (December 23, 2019) – 39-year-old Mark Richard McDonald has been identified as the victim struck and killed by a vehicle last week on Friday evening in Santa Barbara, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The fatal pedestrian collision happened at about 6:10 p.m. December 20, along the southbound lanes of Highway 101 just north of the La Cumbre off-ramp.

Police said McDonald was struck by a Dark Gray Toyota Camry while crossing from the center divider to the shoulder of the road.

McDonald was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The number two and three lanes of the highway were closed down as police conducted the investigation.

Meanwhile, the CHP is investigating to identify the cause of the fatal crash.
