Bakersfield, California (October 27, 2019) – One person was killed in a crash involving a big rig on Saturday night in Bakersfield.

According to the CHP, the wreck happened at about 9:15 p.m. October 26, on Highway 99 near Copus Road.

CHP said a red car was involved in a crash with a semi truck. Two passengers were trapped inside the red car while the semi jackknifed and blocked lanes on the freeway.

At Least 1 Killed in Bakersfield Big Rig Crash

At least one person died in the crash. It’s unclear whether other involved parties were injured.

Traffic was diverted into the right dirt shoulder as officials worked to clear the scene.

The CHP is conducting an investigation into the incident.
