67-Year-Old Bicyclist Seriously Hurt in Otay Mesa West Traffic Accident on Beyer Boulevard
San Diego, California (October 9, 2019) – A 67-year-old bicyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle in the area of Otay Mesa West on Wednesday morning.
The bicycle accident, which happened at about 11:35 a.m. on October 9, occurred on Beyer Boulevard.
The San Diego Police Department said the bicyclist was riding northbound in the No. 1 lane of the highway when he was rear-ended by a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck driven by a 40-year-old male party.
The initial report indicated that the pickup truck had been traveling in the same direction as the bicyclist prior to the collision.
Otay Mesa West Bicycle Accident on Beyer Boulevard
The bicyclist sustained a non-life threatening brain bleed following the wreck. The victim was then transported by ambulance to a hospital for treatment.
The Tacoma driver stopped and cooperated with the police investigation.
The San Diego Police Department is investigating the crash.
