Watsonville, California (July 4, 2020) – Four people were injured in a multi-vehicle collision on Friday afternoon in Watsonville.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Highway 1 near Harkins Slough at about 1 p.m. July 3.

The authorities said a truck pulling farm equipment came to an emergency stop on the roadway for unknown reasons.

Three cars stopped behind the disabled car. An approaching van failed to stop and crashed into one of the cars, triggering a chain-reaction collision.

The van driver and the drivers of three other vehicles were hospitalized with moderate to major injuries.
