Clayton, California (September 24, 2019) – A 30-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries in an auto-pedestrian accident that took place Saturday evening in Clayton.

According to Clayton police, the crash occurred at about 8:30 p.m. near Clayton Road and Lydia Lane.

Police said a 30-year-old Clayton man sustained life-threatening injuries after he was hit by a vehicle driven by a 79-year-old man.

Man Hospitalized after Clayton Pedestrian Crash

The victim was transported to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek with critical injuries.

Meanwhile, the driver involved stopped and cooperated with the investigators.

Police do not believe alcohol or drugs were a factor in the accident.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
