3 Killed and 6 Injured in San Diego Car Crash at B Street and 16th Street

San Diego, California (March 15, 2021) – Three people were killed and at least six others were injured after a vehicle drove off the roadway and crashed into a homeless encampment in San Diego on Monday afternoon.
According to a local news source, the tragic incident happened in the area of B Street and 16th Street on a tunnel underneath San Diego City College.
A 71-year-old man was driving a car when he lost control and crashed into a line of tents on the tunnel.
Three homeless people were killed in the accident.
Five other people were injured in the accident and were transported to the hospital for treatment. According to a police report, two patients were listed in critical condition.
A sixth person suffered minor injuries but declined treatment.
The unidentified driver remained at the scene after the accident and rendered aid to the victims.
The driver was detained and the authorities were yet to establish if impairment was a factor in the accident.
