Oro Grande, California (July 11, 2021) – Two people were critically injured in a traffic collision near Oro Grande on Saturday afternoon, according to the authorities.

The incident was reported at around 12:45 p.m. July 10, on the National Trails Highway near Robinson Ranch Road/Polish Lane.

Authorities said a silver 4-door sedan and a gold 4-door sedan were involved in the accident.

A female passenger in the gold sedan was extricated by the San Bernardino County firefighters.

The driver of the other vehicle reportedly fled the scene after the accident. A male passenger in the vehicle was left injured.

Two people were airlifted to trauma centers with major injuries.

Another patient was also taken to hospital following the collision.

The crash caused a closure of the National Trails Highway as authorities investigated the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
